Artisan appointed for new Fire Service training centre

Artisan Developments (UK) have been appointed Development Managers by Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Fire Authority and the Cambridgeshire Constabulary, to develop a new training centre for the Fire Authority.

The site at Monks Wood Huntingdon owned by Cambridgeshire Constabulary, will be leased to the Fire and Rescue service and will comprise a new building for the fire tenders, a training tower, and a purpose built fire training building that can be set alight time and again. An existing single storey building will be converted for office and classroom accommodation.

A large yard area will provide space for driver training, while existing ditches and topography around the facility will be used for simulating the results of vehicles leaving the road to train fire and rescue crews in cutting people out of vehicles and recreating the scenarios they are likely to confront.
